Mommies In The Making

Worry Wart and Gardens

I have not written lately because we have been super busy and there is not much to really report on the baby. With the exception that I am suddenly very concerned that, Poppy-as in the flower (a nickname picked us out the other night ), is not progressing as he/she is supposed to be. The last few days V’s nipples haven’t been as tender or sore as they have been the past few weeks. This physical change may seem minor to some of you; but apparently, from what I have read, it is not a good sign. Does anyone agree or disagree?  I am just sick about it and try not to frequently voice my concerns to V. I do not want to stress her out as well.  Which I guess she will know once she reads this post. Luckily she does not read the blog daily. Our ultrasound is a week from today and I just really afraid of the chance that we may not see a heartbeat.  Which is devestating for me, I am suprised the feelings I already have for this baby. All I can do is pray and hope for the best. I am going to try and step back  from these negative worries and thoughts and enjoy the fact that the as far as we know V is still pregnant and I do not have any evidence to prove otherwise…….

Staying with that tone,  I think we have picked out a boys name and a girls name! Yay!  V and I really are in love with our names. We were also pleased that emy parents and sisters like the names we have choosen. Not as if it would really sway us, but it is noice that to have the names well received. We had already picked out and decided on a girls name a few months ago, but were still tossing around lots of boys names and a few unisex names. I think we will keep the names hush hush for now; at least till we know the gender of Poppy.

I think I will end this post with a few pics from our backyard gardens………..I love this time of year!

Snowball hydrangeas are my absolute favorite. I look forward to these blooming every year.

  1. ::hugs:: dp and i had the same concerns that early on. its normal for you to be a worry wart right now. you have to keep telling yourself that everything is fine. which i’m sure it is. love the garden! beautiful! i wish i had a yard for one 😦

  2. I can’t speak from personal experience, but I’ve heard that symptoms can wax and wane quite a bit and it’s no cause for concern. I hope the ultrasound next week puts your mind at ease.
It looks like your garden is coming along nicely.

I did have days when my breasts weren’t as sore and then days when that picked right up again. Keep in mind too that she may be getting used to her sore nipples, and as a result, they may not hurt as much. Still, it’s hard not to worry–I did my share of that early on. I hope your ultrasound comes quickly!

Your garden is looking positively lovely! I miss my old house with the hydrangea bushes.

  4. Boob and nipple pain does tend to come and go, so I hope that’s just it. Good luck at your ultrasound. Waiting for those was the worst.

  5. I experienced very severe breast discomfort early on, but it did wane after the first few weeks….Try not to worry too much, okay?

Your flowers are just lovely. My hydrangea just have their blooms, but no flowers yet!

  6. I hope things turn out okay and that her ultrasound allays some of your fears.

  7. I also had the tenderness come and go — some nights I slept in a cami, other nights I was okay. Try not to worry – 🙂
