School Days
I made it through another first day of school without losing a child, resigning or shedding tears ( students or mine). It was actually a pretty rocking first day of school and I am really optimistic about the year. I do say this a little cautiously because in the world of special education anything goes and this can change in a second. You never know whats going to roll through the door or when you have a student that is going to suddenly start exhibiting behaviors that are mind blowing and unstoppable at the moment. One great part about today is that I got a few adorable kindergarten students to add to my beautifully complex and diverse group of K-2 students that I work with.
Another thing that was awesome– Violet and I carpooling to work for the first time today. Love it!
Oh, and even more fantastic–Violet started her period!! It is bittersweet that I am celebrating the beginning of her cycle. The thought of her bleedeing brought me to tears just six weeks ago.
Today was good.
Yay for a good first day of school, and for CD1!
Carpooling, CD1, and an adorable kindergardener? What a fabulous day!
It sounds like it really is a day full of potential and possibility. It’s bittersweet, but also a time for a new beginning. Good luck!
Sounds like as good a first day as you can get!
