Mommies In The Making

This and That—-But Not A Whole Lot of Anything

Let me tell you how much I love V being pregnant. It is absolutely amazing to me that she is housing and growing our child. She has done a phenomenal job of taking care of  _______ (a nickname has not picked us out yet)….hmmm, baby. I am very impressed with the care she is taking with what she puts in her mouth. Very rarely is she eating over processed or junk food. Yay! On the not so much Yay side is hormones. A lovely component of pregnancy.I love her so much and am so supportive of what she is going through, but it is a slight adjustment for both of us. I feel awful bitching, complaining, blogging about her hormones; because she has taken on this experience that will shape and better our lives forever, but still the hormonal changes are a little rough at times. Maybe it is because we are so agreeable with each other that this slight increase in rifts has bothered me. I havn’t read too much of this on other blogs……so maybe I am being sensitive myself.

Also, we have still been putting off this tile job in the bathroom. Uggh, I am really dreading this specific home improvement job! I ‘have not  procrastinated this much since my days of writing papers during grad school. I have had tools and plans laid out for a few weeks now, but still can’t seem to get it done. I don’t know what my deal is and why I am so resistant to getting this done.  At this rate I will not have it completed before______ is here.  I need some freaking motivation!

To keep in the spirit if the above paragraph….today, while procrastinating from the time sucking bathroom, we went and bought V a few maternity clothing items. She looked adorable and I can’t wait till she can actually wear them. Yes, the purchases are a bit early, but they were a great deal. Oh, and did I mention she looked really cute in them??

V is feeling good. She is still having some cramping in her abdomen, but nothing severe. She has not experienced any “morning” sickness, but I hear that it really starts to rear it’s ugly head starting at about  week 6–which she is two days away from. I guess we will see if this streak of good luck continues. Other changes are occurring, such as her breast are starting to change somewhat. It is so amazing to me to see her body start to go through changes. She is still extremely tired and is usually able to get a nap in while I cook dinner. She is enjoying pregnancy so far.

  1. Ah, hormones. Good luck with that! 🙂

Sounds like everything is going great! Glad V. is avoiding the morning sickness so far.

  2. Hormones are a bitch. Feel free to complain away.
I love hearing about your growing apple seed (baby)!

The hormones are no fun for either partner, and I know we had our share of arguments during the first trimester. It wasn’t pretty. Fortunately, things do even out, and while it won’t be perfect, it will be better. It sounds like you’re being a fabulous partner!
