Hurry Up May
P: As a teacher, I always look forward to May because it means the close of the school year is right around the corner. This year I will be looking forward to May for different reasons. We will now be doing our first insemination in May instead of July. I can’t wait and am so glad that we bumped our first insemination up by a few months.
V and I have been planning on having our insemination done by our OG/GYN for a few reasons. The main reason being that our chosen sperm bank only ships to doctors office. We also choose to do IUI because we wanted to go ahead and pay the extra money to increase our odds at getting pregnant. However, since we have switched our bank to one that ships to home addresses, we will be now be doing home insemination. I am completely psyched that I will actually be doing the insemination!
Oh how exciting! It really is meaningful to be able to do it at home, and I know my wife feels really good about having been the person to actually get me pregnant. The most important thing throughout the whole process is to keep a good sense of humor. This is going to be great!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you want any advice on the insemination. One piece of unsolicited advice I’ll offer is to order the insemination kit they offer and to get yourself a speculum. It allows you to hit your target much more effectively, and you’ll really want to, considering the teeny tiny amount of sperm that you get.
Just one more month!
